These quotes come from Alyson's clients, students, and workshop participants from her consulting at ArtBizCoach.com.

Your self-promotion and artist statement courses were key in providing a working framework for communicating about myself and my work. Your blog and newsletter continue to be essential reading for me. I have accepted representation from a prestigious gallery in Chelsea (NYC) and have tentative dates for a solo show. I just wanted to thank you for the help and the confidence that your insights about the business of being an artist has given me.—Ron Diorio

I am more focused than ever and it's because you have kept me on track towards a goal that has been a fantasy up until now. There is something very profound that happens when you finally see a dream turning into the possibility of reality. Thanks to your consulting, I have a professional Web site, mailing list, and marketing materials. I have always been confident in my work, but you gave me the confidence to promote it on a higher level.Glen Robert Hacker

Prior to attending your self-promotion workshop, I had no real plan of action for my art career.  I was muddling through this new world of the “art community” with no real idea of how to reach my goals. In fact I had never really identified what my art career goals were.  After the workshop I created specific goals and then a plan of action. Periodically I review my notes from the workshop and adjust my plan as needed.  My confidence in approaching galleries with a professional portfolio and my ten-second introduction has resulted in my work being shown in new markets and thus in increased sales.—Jane Robinson

With your guidance and encouragement I met my initial objectives in a surprisingly short time. I look forward to your intelligent counsel as I identify new career challenges and objectives.—Mel Ristau

When I'm carrying one of the purses I create and receive a compliment, I now not only thank the person, but also tell them I'm the designer and perhaps even offer a business card. There was a time when I couldn't have done that. I would have just said thank you and walked on, wishing I'd said more. It's like you gave me permission!Nancy Faris

Linda Lewis

Three years ago I attended—by chance—one of your workshops in Iowa. I had a successful career in education but had always dreamed of becoming an artist. That workshop helped me understand the art business in general, but it also helped me focus on what I needed to do first. I worked diligently on developing a style, wrote an artist statement and biography, and began building a resume. Within a year and a half I was in two group exhibitions, participated in my first art festival (and received 2nd place), and now have gallery representation in two different cities. I look forward to continuing this journey using ArtBizCoach.com and ArtBizBlog.com.—Linda Lewis
